Solid Wood
Oak
Quartersawn white oak is favored because of its dimensional stability; it is less likely to fissure, cheque, or warp due to the method of cutting. Quartersawn oak as well produces ray flake, a distinctive patterning in the wood. Different in every piece of wood, ray bit patterns are a prized characteristic of quartersawn oak and brand each piece of furniture unique.
Cherry
American Black Cherry naturally has a broad spectrum of color and grain. At Stickley, craftsmen alloy the shades and grain of cherry to create a residual on each piece, but at that place will be variations visible. Like fine wine, reddish wood mellows and deepens in color with age, developing a rich patina over time. This natural miracle makes each piece of cherry furniture a unique work of art.
Finishes
